HALL FOR INDOOR SPORTS AND NEW STANDS AT THE TRAINING CENTER OF “BOLOGNA F.C. 1909”
Bologna

The new indoor sports hall and the new covered grandstand at the “Niccolò Galli” Technical Training Center in Casteldebole are designed to enhance the facilities supporting the preparation and training activities of both the first team and the youth teams of “Bologna F.C. 1909.”
The hall, already completed, is a single-story structure located on the ground floor, with its main façade facing east. It features a large glass wall offering a view of the training field to the east, onto which wide sliding glass doors open to create a strong connection between the interior and exterior of the building. The main entrance is located on the south side, featuring an entrance vestibule. Also on the south side is a technical and service area with an additional volume projecting from the main body of the building.
The new covered grandstand, designed in accordance with the “CONI Standards for Sports Facilities,” features a public entrance on the south side, along Via Casteldebole. The bleachers facing Field 2 to the west will be constructed with a prefabricated reinforced concrete structure and steps, and will be enclosed on the east side by concrete structures and cast-in-place infill walls. Along the north and south ends, the grandstand will be partially buried with grass-covered embankments to mitigate its visual impact.
The grandstand will feature a roof structure consisting of vertical steel “tree-like” support columns and horizontal laminated wood beams, with a roof covering of corrugated metal or polycarbonate panels and a suspended ceiling made of wooden slats.
Since 2017, the firm has also managed the project management for the new athletes’ locker room building, boiler room, electrical substation, utility connections and outdoor facilities, new fields, and the renovation of existing playing fields.
