Saturday, February 11, 2017 the new municipal nursery school "M. Teresa Chiodini" was inaugurated by the Mayor of Pieve di Cento Sergio Maccagnani.
The building was built on the basis of the preliminary draft designed by "Ricerca e Progetto - Galassi, Mingozzi e Associati", aimed to the expansion, consolidation, reparation of the damages and regulatory compliance adjustment of the municipal nursery school, damaged by the earthquake occurred on May 20, 2012.
The preliminary draft has been designed according to a bioclimatic approach, which takes account of the natural elements of the site (sun, wind, water, vegetation, etc.) to control the sun-air impact on the building and provide comfort primarily through the use of "passive systems", integrated with "active" systems.
The original building structure was expanded and upgraded, adding a new wooden construction, marked by great compositional and structural simplicity.
